I have been practicing as a Massage Therapist since 2018, after graduating from Langara and acing those board exams -mature students tend to overstudy. The day I got my license, I started working at Electra Health downtown and since then, I’ve been working full time and taking courses in fascial, muscular and joint manipulation, as well as programs in Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Pranic Healing (Basic and Advanced) and Holyfire Reiki (1 and 2).
I had been doing massage for friends and family before even considering this as a career. I just enjoy putting my hands on the body to feel what’s going on in there. it”s really satisfying to be able to create positive change in my clients by reducing tension and pain and restoring motion and wellbeing. Every body and injury is unique and i find it interesting every single time.
As for my previous background, I have an eclectic mix of education and life experience that i bring to this practice . I have a BA in Political Science (UBC) as well as a BFA in Fine Arts (Emily Carr/Cooper Union) and have spent many years living and working in Education, Entertainment and as an Artist in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Athens, Paris and New York city. in addition to this, I taught English and exhibited paintings, curated and did murals and installation art at music festivals locally for 15 years .before venturing into massage.
